Mobile Web Is Taking Over The World
Mashable, the social media guide website, reported about the stats shared at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Frascisco on October 19, 2009.
Among the astronomical numbers included in the stats about mobile web, one fact stands out. The leaders of this summit predict that there will be over 1 billion "heavy mobile data users" by 2013. Certain mobile data traffic has already increased nearly 5,000% in only three years. It's easy to see the need for mobile marketing efforts to grow with that number.
Other information shared by Morgan Stanley analyst Mary Meeker include more fascinating stats and trends to watch in the coming years. She made the optimistic point that the technology market is doing particularly well financially, even during a time of such a poor economy. The sector market capitalization share is up since 2003.
Each year Meeker highlights one major trend that is worth talking about. This year, she notes that mobile web is already bigger than most people realize. And as those in-the-know are quick to point out, it will only keep growing.
